Bartholomew Diggins was a seaman in the U.S. Navy during the Civil War. Collection consists of Diggins's recollections of the cruise of the U.S.S. Hartford, Admiral David Farragut's flagship in the naval operations on the Mississippi River, in Mobile Bay, Ala., and New Orleans, La., during the Civil War. Includes comments on Farragut's personality and plates clipped from magazines.
