Papers of Joseph Hopper Nicholson, a lawyer of Maryland, including conveyances, surveys, etc. relating to lands in Talbot, Queen Anne, and Kent counties, in vicinity of Wye, Centreville, and Chester River. Includes attested copy of will of Richard Sweatnam, 1697; enrollment of militia company, 1795; legal fee book, 1795, etc. The lands mentioned are Green Spring, Turners Ridge, Planters Increase, Paxton's Lot, Chesterfield (later Centreville), Bachelors Resolution, etc. the autographs include Mary Ward, Thomas Bucknell, John Bird, James Clayland, Jeffrey Mattashaw, John Howell, William Sweatnam, Joseph Nicholson, and Joseph Hopper Nicholson.
