Elias Boudinot (1740-1821), an American statesman and lawyer of New Jersey, was a member of the Continental Congress, 1778 and 1781-1783, serving as president of that body in 1782 and 1783. After election to Congress in 1789, he was appointed Director of the U.S. Mint in 1795. He was the first president, 1816-1821, of the American Bible Society. Account book lists Boudinot's household expenses in 1783. Includes printed title page and portrait
