Scope and arrangement
The papers of journalist Don Carlos Seitz consist of correspondence, 1882 - 1934. The letters are arranged alphabetically and are mostly incoming. His correspondents include political leaders, authors, publishers, editors and many other distinguished people in the literary world, among whom are: Josephus Daniels, Sr., Frank Nelson Doubleday, George Cary Eggleston, Henry Louis Mencken and Oswald Garrison Villard. Among the subjects discussed are: The New York World, Joseph Pulitzer and Seitz' books.
The collection also contains two typescripts with corrections by Seitz: Uncommon Americans, 1925 and Famous American Duels, 1929.
