Francis T. Hawks was an assistant engineer of Central Park in New York City. Collection consists of correspondence, memoranda and notes received by Hawks from Central Park officials. Sketches, diagrams and measurements are found on some items and a few drafts of Hawks's replies are included. Topics such as Park roads, bridges, walls, drainage systems, landscaping, and administrative matters are discussed.
