Written on an envelope addressed by Mary Shelley to Claire Clairmont; filed with with the Mary Shelley letter the envelope originally housed (MWS 0120). -- -- 1 autograph letter signed : [ca. 5 Nov 1845] : (S'ANA 0913) : from White Cottage : relating to the blackmailing of Mary Shelley by the Italian adventurer Gatteschi; begins, "I had intended, my dear Miss Clairmont, to have written you long since ...".
