Edward Stanley, clergyman and educational and social reformer, was the rector of Alderley, Cheshire, from 1805 to 1837, when he became Bishop of Norwich. Holograph farewell address to his parishoners : 4 Jun. 1837 : (MISC 1859) : expressing his sadness at parting from them, and addressing his thirty-two years as their pastor. Tipped into Stanley's The Mauvais Pas, a scene in the Alps, shelved as: Pforz (Stanley, E. Mauvais pas).
