Joyce Trisler was an American modern dancer, choreographer and teacher; her papers, 1950-1979, reflect these professional activities. Stella Bloch was an ethnic dancer and artist. Bloch took dance lessons from the Isadorables and then learned native dances of the Near East during a year long trip in 1920. During the 1930s and 1940s she wrote film scripts. In the 1950s with a move to the East Coast, she began to concentrate more on drawing and painting her surroundings. Her work captures Harlem during the Harlem Renaissance. Included in the collection are correspondence, personal papers, writings and photographs. less
