Scope and arrangement
The Kim Hunter papers, Additions date from 1925 to 2000 and document the actress's theater and film career through scripts, photographs, scrapbooks, programs, and other materials.
The majority of the collection is comprised of scripts, programs, and reviews, which are arranged alphabetically by production. Scripts are generally annotated and many are accompanied by Hunter's notes. Some productions are represented through only a script, while other files may include clippings or other printed material. Titles include Come Slowly, Eden, Man and Superman, A Cup of Change, Painting Churches, Death of a Salesman, The Disenchanted, and The Chalk Garden.
Photographs date from 1925 to 1999 and provide a comprehensive overview of Hunter's career. Theater and film production stills make up the bulk of the images. Films include A Streetcar Named Desire, Escape from the Planet of the Apes, and Tender Comrade. Headshots, portraits, and snapshots are also included.
The collection holds four scrapbooks, each covering a decade of Hunter's career, from 1950 to 1999 (excluding the 1980s). Each scrapbook contains a list of the productions represented, along with photographs and clippings.
