Scope and arrangement
The Tony Straiges designs date from 1970 to 1994 and contain set designs (including rough sketches, ground plans, elevations, and sections), renderings, and set models. Shows represented include Broadway, Off-Broadway, touring, and regional theatre productions, as well as ballet productions from throughout Straiges's career. The collection contains designs from the Yale Repertory Theatre production of The Rise And Fall Of The City Of Mahogony (1974), as well as the original Broadway productions of Timbuktu! (1978), Copperfield (1981), Sunday in the Park with George (1984), and Into the Woods (1987). Also included are Straiges's set designs and costume sketches from his studies at the Yale School of Drama.
