Scope and arrangement
The J. F. Milliken papers consist of theatrical correspondence and span the years 1887-1894. The correspondence documents the vaudeville touring circuit at the end of the 19th century.

J. F. Milliken was an agent for vaudeville entertainers. His papers contain letters documenting vaudeville in the late 1800s.
James Foster Milliken was born in 1847 in Lewistown, Pennsylvania. Known as "Colonel" he was a theatrical agent primarily for 19th century vaudeville and variety acts. He is also listed in some sources as a playwright. He died in 1917 in New York City.
