Scope and arrangement
The Otto Kinkeldey papers are arranged in five series:

Consists of writings by Otto Kinkeldey on various topics, including many manuscripts and drafts with handwritten corrections.
The Otto Kinkeldey Papers include Kinkeldey's academic writings, research and teaching notes, and correspondence between the years 1908-1962. Many of the teaching notes come from his time as Professor and Librarian at Cornell University and as Visiting Professor at Harvard University, Boston University, and the University of North Texas.
Otto Kinkeldey was a musicologist and librarian who served as the first Chief of the Music Division of the New York Public Library between the years 1915 and 1923. He also served as the first president of the American Musicological Society.
