Arthur Davison Ficke (1883-1946) was a poet, author and collector of Japanese and Chinese art. Collection contains handwritten and typewritten documents, printed matter and negatives. Most of the papers are notes for lectures Ficke gave on Far Eastern art during the 1930s and 1940s. Also, some correspondence regarding these lectures. Correspondents include photographer Arnold Genthe and Japanese print collectors Louis V. Ledoux and Judson D. Metzgar. Other papers concern Ficke's collection of Japanese and Chinese art. Papers postdating Ficke's death are those of his widow, Gladys Brown Ficke, and pertain to a revision of his book Chats on Japanese Prints, originally published in 1915.
