Albert E. Sterner (1863-1946) was an American painter, etcher and lithographer. He opened a studio in New York City in 1885, was one of the founders of Painter-Gravers of America, and taught at the Art Students League. His paintings were purchased by and exhibited at museums in Europe and the U.S. Collection consists of letters to Sterner and his wife from artists, actors, authors, musicians, and political figures relating mainly to art and cultural matters.
