Tailors Isaac Platt Hull (1813-1883) and his brother, Denney Hull, Jr. (1831-1900) were born in Danbury, Connecticut. They were descendants of George Hull, who emigrated from England to Dorchester, Massachusetts, in 1692. I.P. Hull & Company was located at 553 Broadway until roughly 1870, when it moved to 590 Broadway. The records consist of two ledgers containing customer orders and general accounting of the shop's financial activities.
