Scope and arrangement
The collection consist primarily of notes, correspondence, charts, clippings, and miscellaneous printed material, ca. 1940s-1970s, produced by J. Crawford Hartman's and his wife, Helen Blanchard Hartman's genealogical research on the Blanchard family. The Barker, Countiss, Dyckman, Green, Hall, Robbins, Seitzinger, Shurburne, and Vermilye families are treated to a lesser extent. Also present are correspondence of Rev. E.B. Blanchard, Rev. Silas M. Blanchard, and other members of the Blanchard family concerning the family's genealogy; appointments, leases, deeds and wills, 1744-1818, of the Davidson, Blanchard, Nutte and Robbins families; and portrait photographs.
