The Eliot Genealogical Notes and Clippings collection contains four volumes of genealogical notes from the late 19th and early 20th century containing family lines, birth and death dates, allied families, locations and other facts pertaining to the Eliot and Elliot families. The notes focus on the Eliot/Elliot families of New York and trace their lineage back to England. The collection also contains a scrapbook with clippings related to the Eliot and Elliot families from 1887 to 1908. The scrapbook includes obituaries, wedding announcements, advertisements from Eliot/Elliot owned businesses, crime reports, playbills, and other material generated about the Eliot/Elliot family. There is also correspondence contained in the scrapbook relating to research on individuals mentioned in the clippings
