The Hamilton Bullock Tompkins genealogical research papers consist chiefly of letters from Marion L. Tompkins of Vineland, N.J. to Hamilton B. Tompkins, 1891-1895, of New York Ctiy, regarding their genealogical research on the Tompkins family. Also present are a few letters from others regarding the Tompkins family, 1875-1912; Tompkins' application for membership in the New York Genealogical and Biographical Society, 1894; a marriage certificate, 1842, for Joseph B. Tompkins and Mrs. Mary E. Perry, New York City; a drawing of the Tompkins coat of arms; a calling card of Frederick Tompkins; a letter, 1858, from E. Cropman of Allenton, Ala. informing the recipient of the death of his brother, Edwin Tompkins; and some genealogical notes.
