Warren G. Harding was the owner and George H. Van Fleet was the manager of the Marion, Ohio newspaper, The Star. Approximately eighty typewritten letters from Warren G. Harding to George H. Van Fleet relating to executive policy and details in the publicaton of the newspaper. Issues discussed include shortage and cost of paper, composition, promptness in going to press, economy measures, care of machinery, personnel problems, etc. Also, a few comments on current events, daylight savings time, Harding's nomination for presidency.
