Susan Jaffe (1962- ) was a principal ballet dancer for the American Ballet Theatre from 1980 to 2002. Jaffe's principal performances include the productions of Sleeping Beauty and Swan Lake; and her final performance in Giselle. She danced abroad as a guest artist for The National English Ballet, among others. Jaffe is currently a ballet mistress at the American Ballet Theatre and dean of the School of Dance at the University of North Carolina. The Susan Jaffe papers, dated 1978 to 2010, mostly reflect Susan Jaffe's performance career at the American Ballet Theatre and to a lesser extent at special performances, and internationally through articles, photographs, programs and a book entitled The American Ballet Theatre, The First Fifty Years.
