Mary Ann Watts Hughes, English diarist and correspondent. She was the wife of Thomas Hughes, Canon of St. Paul's Cathedral, and a friend of Robert Southey and Sir Walter Scott. · To Mrs. Birch at Wishford, Salisbury (her aunt) : 1 autograph letter signed : 11 Apr 1802 : (MISC 3841) : 4 pages (double sheet) : [no place] : begins, "I seem to be grown a very bad Correspondent but I can safely say it is not from want of regard affection ..."; first page crosswritten.
