Anne Seymour Damer, English sculptor and author. In her youth, Horace Walpole was often her guardian while her parents were abroad. Through Walpole Damer met the poet Mary Berry, with whom she would share a long friendship. Other friends included Joanna Baillie and Sarah Siddons. According to her wishes, her private papers were destroyed upon her death. To "Dear Sir" : 1 autograph letter signed : [pre-1824] : (MISC 2018) : begins, "I just mention in case you had any thoughts of meeting me there ..." ; with portrait dated 1823. Mounted in the William Upcott album of letters by Eminent Women. Shelved under "Upcott" with bound manuscripts.
