The Schuyler family included George Samuel Schuyler (1895-1977), his wife Josephine Schuyler (née Cogdell, 1900-1969), and their daughter, Philippa Duke Schuyler (1931-1967). Each was notable in their own right: George was a writer and journalist. Josephine, white, was a writer and Texan heiress. Philippa was a pianist, composer, and journalist. The collection consists of ninety-nine audio recordings, created from the 1930s to the 1970s. The recordings are primarily of media appearances, music, and lectures and speeches by George and Philippa. less
