Gerald Horne (1949-) is an African American historian, professor, radio host, political commentator, a 1992 California Senate candidate, and the author of Fire This Time: The Watts Uprising and the 1960s (1995), as well as over thirty other books. He is the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. The collection contains 112 audio recordings and eleven videos relating to Horne's career, including interviews about his scholarship; interviews he conducted as a radio host as well as research for his books; appearances he made as a Senate candidate; and appearances at academic conferences, dating from 1970 to 2003. less
