Since 2003, StoryCorps, an independent nonprofit, has collected and archived more than 50,000 interviews with over 90,000 participants. StoryCorps' mission is to provide people of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of their lives. The StoryCorps Black LGBTQ (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender) Archive is a collection of digital interviews compiled by StoryCorps between 2004 and 2013, reflecting a multitude of experiences of gays, lesbians, bisexuals, and transgender people throughout the African Diaspora.
