The International Committee for Political Prisoners was founded in 1924 to to agitate for the release and raise funds for the relief of political prisoners throughout the world. The ICPP dissolved in 1942 once the advent of World War II made assistance to political prisoners nearly impossible. The records consist of correspondence, memoranda, minutes, typescripts, financial statements, and supporting printed matter. less

Jack Nichols is a gay activist and senior editor of the online daily newspaper Gay Today. He was co-editor of Gay (one of the earliest gay newsweeklies) and is the author of numerous books and articles including The Gay Agenda: Talking Back To The Fundamentalists, Men's Liberation, Welcome to Fire Island, and co-author, with his late lover Lige Clarke, of I Have More Fun With You Than Anybody, and Roommates Can't Always Be Lovers. Collection consists of correspondence, photocopies of manuscripts, photographs, and printed matter. Correspondence, 1965-1973, includes letters to Nichols and Clarke; and copies are of autobiographical notes and Nichols's serial autobiography. Rachel Brooks (1884- ) was a YWCA field worker in China in the early 1920s. From 1929 to 1947 she was associated with the Chinese Christian School in New York City and wrote several books. Collection consists of typed manuscript by Brooks of "The YMCA Government of China", with bibliographic notes, and preface by Bertrand Russell. The manuscript, recording her experiences in China, was never published. less
