She achieved prominence as an independent modern dance performer and choreographer, but embarked on a second career as an authority on Chinese dance and martial arts traditions. During a stay in China, Delza became the first American dancer to teach modern dance technique in Chinese theater and dance schools. Following her return to the United States, she became an important tai chi instructor and advocate. Stella Bloch was an ethnic dancer and artist. Bloch took dance lessons from the Isadorables and then learned native dances of the Near East during a year long trip in 1920. During the 1930s and 1940s she wrote film scripts. In the 1950s with a move to the East Coast, she began to concentrate more on drawing and painting her surroundings. Her work captures Harlem during the Harlem Renaissance. Included in the collection are correspondence, personal papers, writings and photographs. less

The Sally Ann Parsons Designs contains costume bibles produced by Parsons-Meares Ltd., a costume construction company specializing in costumes for stage, film, dance and opera. Materials date from 1980, the year that the company was established, to 2001. The collection contains photocopies of designers’ sketches; patterns and costume construction notes; swatches and samples of other supplies used; photographs; and measurements. It also contains working records such as cast lists, contact lists, supplies order forms, a small amount of correspondence, cost estimates, worksheets and shipping lists. The series initially aired on WNYC and WNYE in New York from 1981 to 1992. Produced by Celia Ipiotis and Jeffrey Bush and hosted by Ipiotis, Eye on Dance always featured video excerpts to illustrate discussion topics. The Eye on DanceRecords consist of research material, programs and clippings related to the various subjects addressed on the series. There are also some episode scripts from the series, and office files from the non-profit arts organizations in which Ipiotis and Bush were involved. less
