Scope and arrangement
This is a synthetic collection consisting of a typescript and correspondence by and about the author. The undated typescript is by Frederick Victor Banford. The correspondence includes letters from the author, dating from [1911?] to 1952, to Anne Fremantle, Sir Edward Howard Marsh, Thomas Moult, George Orwell, A. W. Votier, Humbert Wolfe, Leonard Woolf, Virginia Woolf, and others, as well as letters relating to the author, dating from 1928 to 1962, between various correspondents including Edmund C. Blunden, T. S. Eliot, Laurence Housman, Aldous Huxley, Frank Alfred Lea, Eric Pinker, Max Plowman, Sir Richard Rees, Michael Sadleir, Frank Swinnerton, Henry Williamson, and others. There are letters to Murry from Arnold Bennett, Robert Bridges, Joyce Cary, Walter De la Mare, Georges Duhamel, T. S. Eliot, Havelock Ellis, M. Buxton Forman, W. W. Gibson, Edmund Gosse, Thomas Hardy, D. H. Lawrence, Edward Howard Marsh, George Orwell, Countess Mary Russell, Lytton Strachey, Hugh Walpole, Virginia Woolf, and others, dating from 1912 to 1956.
