The Association sent notice by mail informing claimants of the allowance of a claim, which required acknowledgment via attached form before the certificate would be mailed. It also sent forms requesting local claimants to call at the office regarding their claims. When Army discharge papers were required by the government for claim prosecution, the Association issued official receipts to claimants for discharges received. Receipts signed by claimants were also required when discharge papers were returned to them. For numbered series of receipts, order is numerical by receipt number unless otherwise stated.
