{"value"=>"<p>The Gay Rights National Lobby (GRNL) formed in 1976 to lobby for gay rights at the national level. The Human Rights Campaign Fund, later the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), was formed in 1980 as a gay and lesbian political action committee, primarily to raise money for pro-fairness candidates. The HRC grew out of the GRNL and then absorbed it in 1985. Gittings acted as a charter member of the board of directors for the GRNL and sat on the HRC Advisory committee.</p>"}
