{"value"=>"<p>The Gay Activists Alliance (GAA) was founded by activists, including Kay Tobin Lahusen, in New York City in December of 1969. Formed by dissident members of the Gay Liberation Front, GAA sought to form a militant, nonviolent organization dedicated exclusively to the attainment of civil and social rights for gays. The organization was most active from 1970-1974 and it dissolved in October 1981. All files refer to the original GAA in New York City with the exception of those listed under the Washington, DC chapter.</p>"}
