{"value"=>"<p>The AIDS Professional Education Program (APEP), begun in 1986, provided free, on-site training workshops at community-based mental health agencies, alcoholism programs, community residences, and hospitals. Sessions were aimed at small groups of mental health professionals which met for four or more weekly sessions. Participants were given information about HIV/AIDS, referral resources, and useful counseling and risk behavior modification therapies. APEP trainers would tailor sessions to each organization's needs and the existing level of HIV/AIDS knowledge of its staff.</p>"}
