{"value"=>"<p>The Board of Managers was the primary governing body of the WCAR. The Board met regularly and had 24 members (12 women and 12 men). Meetings covered general WCAR business, and activities of various committees. The original board included several USSC personnel including Olmsted, Bellows, and Elisha Harris, as well as local physician Valentine Mott (1785-1865), who was named WCAR president. A number of prominent New York families were represented on the board of managers, including the Fish, Field, and Schuyler families.</p>"}
