{"value"=>"<p>The personal miscellany series contains an inventory of personal items including awards; catalogs and indices to his extensive personal library; material relating to the management of his Greystone estate in Yonkers; and photographs. Certificates held in the collection include his admission to the New York State Bar Association and his passport. A house book and wine inventory are among the items pertaining to his home at Greystone. Photographs include family members (Laura Pelton and Caroline Tilden in particular), but mainly represent Tilden's friends in his social and political spheres, such as William H. Wickham, Charles A. Dana, and Leila Morse Rummel, daughter of Samuel Morse. Many are of Tilden himself at various stages of his adult life. School notes dating from his early years are few, but some notes dating from his college and law school years have been preserved. One file of minutes from the New Lebanon Debate Society demonstrates Tilden's precocious political acuity.</p>"}
