Philip Randolph, and notes relating to Rustin's participation in the 1943 and 1963 March on Washington movements. Rustin's role with the Fellowship of Reconcilation (FOR), a non-violent antiwar group is detailed through minutes, reports, correspondence and Meier's notes. FOR's support of the 1943 March on Washington is discussed. Of particular interest is a report Rustin prepared entitled \"22 Days on a Chain Gang\" concerning the sentence he served in North Carolina for sitting in a non-Jim Crow section of a bus, the Fellowship of Reconcilation precursor of the 1961-1962 Freedom Rides. The subseries also includes articles Rustin authored and abundant newsclippings. The activities of the A.
