{"value"=>"<p>Arranged alphabetically by subject or correspondent. Records consist mostly of budgets, clippings, legal documents, memoranda, notes, and reports, but also include brochures, incoming and outgoing letters, invitations, invoices, and newsletters. The bulk of the records date from 1955-1967. These papers record some of the activities of the Board of Trustees, the Women's Council, and offices of the Central Administration, such as the Accounting Office, the Personnel Office, and the Public Relations Office. They provide extensive documentation of fiscal-planning, and fund-raising activities, and include considerable material relating to staff salaries, retirement programs, and NYPL staff conferences held at Holiday Hills. The papers also record community reactions to the curtailment of services at NYPL branch libraries, and provide information on lobbying efforts for the Library Services and Construction Act (HR 19363), New York City labor relations, and the development of library automation services. Notable correspondents include Senator Charles E. Goodall and Congressman Edward Koch.</p>"}
