{"value"=>"<p>The Regional Activities Division served as liaison between grassroots membership and chapters and the national office. It provided expert advice and guidance on environmental issues, environmental science and politics and assumed major responsibility for developing and implementing the policies and strategies for the attainment of Audubon goals. It was the result of a gradual evolution towards a more centralized organizational structure which began in 1944 with the adoption of the \"branch plan\" allowing for joint membership in, and the sharing of dues between, the local chapter and the national office. By the 1970s regional offices, staffed by regional representatives charged with the responsibility of mobilizing support for Audubon goals at the local level, had been established in ten geographical regions of the US .</p> <p>The records of the Regional Activities Division are arranged into two sub-series: B.3.G.1. Name/Subject File; B.3.G.2. Regional Representative File</p>"}
