They document much of Bernstein’s work as a conductor after he left the New York Philharmonic. Events documented include several milestone birthday celebration concerts for Bernstein and other important musicians; benefit and peace concerts; scholarship events; guest conducting stints with several major orchestras, including the Chicago Symphony and the Israel and Vienna Philharmonic; New York Philharmonic events; and music festivals (particularly Tanglewood).
