Most of the scores are photocopies of originals housed at other repositories, the notable exception being the notebooks in sub-series 1. All compositions described by William Lichtenwanger in his book <span class=\"title\">The Music of Henry Cowell: A Descriptive Catalog</span> are arranged and identified by the numbers Lichtenwanger assigned them.
