There are John Becker’s letters with G<span class=\"persname\">eorge Antheil</span>and <span class=\"persname\">Ezra Pound</span>, concerning the state of American music. There is also his correspondence with the other members of the American Five: <span class=\"persname\">Charles Ives</span>, <span class=\"persname\">Wallingford Riegger</span>, <span class=\"persname\">Carl Ruggles</span>, and especially <span class=\"persname\">Henry Cowell</span>. <span class=\"persname\">Don Gillespie</span>, who wrote a dissertation on Becker’s life and work, had an ongoing correspondence with Evelyn Becker and suggested dates for many of the undated letters in this series.</p>"}
