Scores in sub-series 1 for which sketches exist in this sub-series are <span class=\"title\">The Golden City of Iram</span>, Op. 55 (ca. 1941), <span class=\"title\">Pages from Rabelais</span>, Op. 78 (1963), and <span class=\"title\">A Song of Faith</span>, Op. 59 (1959 - 1962). In addition to sketches with titles, Gruenberg assembled several sets of sketches of various “characters” or “natures.” The sketches under George Edwards include a musical, <span class=\"title\">Lady X</span> (1927) and an untitled musical comedy/operetta which may be more material for either <span class=\"title\">Lady X</span> or <span class=\"title\">Hello, Tommy!</span></p>"}
