{"value"=>"
Both editions open and read from right to left in Hebrew print style. The collections have romanized Yiddish and Hebrew texts for each song, with the transliterated lyric words under the melody lines. The brief foreword materials and a table of contents appear both in English (at the back) and in Yiddish print (at the front). For the paperback edition, the English table of contents is alphabetical, serving as an index to the materials. The Yiddish print listings in both editions, and in the English version for the hard cover copy, follow the chronological order of the book. The selections appear according to the following topical categories: Songs of Israel; Folk Songs; Traditional Hasidic Songs and Melodies; Children's Songs; Sabbath Songs; Holiday Songs - Passover, Lag B'omer, Shevuoth, Sukkoth, Hanukkah, Tu B'shvat, and Purim; Ghetto Songs (added for the 1961 hard cover edition); and, Hymns. There is a simple design on the front and back sides of the hard and soft cover editions.
"}
