{"value"=>"<p>This series is arranged alphabetically by name, subject, or topic and reflects the work of the organization's executive directors: Michael Hirsch, Paul Van Souder, William S. Case, and Christopher Babick.</p> <p>The files document the intent of the founders to implement their philosophy of self-help, self-reliance, and self-empowerment in coping with the personal and social problems caused by the spread of AIDS in New York City; and their efforts at mobilizing public and private support for the funding of programs to aid in combating the disease. Included are extensive records relating to the creation of the AIDS Consortium (New York AIDS Consortium), and records relating to the organization's collaboration with various city and state agencies, including the AIDS Institute of the New York State Department of Health. The file titles reflect those originally present in the records, with a few exceptions that were amended for the sake of clarity.</p>"}
