{"value"=>"<p>This series consists of correspondence between the Brown Brothers themselves, to and from their father, George McDuffee Brown, and especially from their aunts, Emma Brown Lyman (Aunt Kittie) and Ann Brown Leacock (Aunt Nan), who assisted the brothers financially throughout their lives. There is also correspondence with several other Brown family members.</p> <p>A number of letters (ca. 1933 or 1934) from Lyman to Chamberlain relate the travails of a stock company they ran in Atlantic City. Of particular interest is a handwritten note from the brothers’ maternal grandfather, General Samuel Emery Chamberlain, to Chamberlain Brown and his parents. This series also includes condolence letters to Lyman on Chamberlain’s death.</p>"}
