{"value"=>"<p>This series is comprised of the records for Cohen's subsidiary companies, including primarily Allied Interests, Inc., Bentwood Television, Inc., Interscope, Inc., Nine O' Clock Productions, Playgoers Club, Inc. and Theatrical Subsidiaries, Inc. The papers consist of general information on the companies, such as certificates of incorporation, functions and descriptions, and some correspondence. Financial records include statements, tax returns, bank accounts, invoices, general ledgers, payroll, pensions, insurance, invoices, pensions, and barter deals with airlines for television productions.</p> <p> Allied Interests, Inc. would often be responsible for the publication of souvenir programs for Cohen's productions; Bentwood Television, Inc. was the primary company through which Cohen operated for his television projects. Interscope, Inc. was set up as a theatrical producing organization and leaseholder of office space, but was also involved in public relations. Its clients included El Al Airlines, and the Erlanger Theatre and Walnut Street Theatre in Philadelphia. A contract for the Morris A. Mechanic Theatre in Baltimore, which Cohen was hired to revitalize in 1975, can be found in the files.</p> <p> The Playgoers Club was set up to provide subscribers for Theatrical Subsidiaries, Inc., the umbrella organization for Theatre Tours, which Cohen initiated in the mid-1950s. Theatre Tours provided travel packages to Broadway for out-of-towners, and out-of-town tryout packages for New Yorkers. In spite of some complaints about restaurant choices, the correspondence attests to the popularity of the tours, which only ended because of changes in New York City law regarding tour operators and ticket selling.</p>"}
