{"value"=>"<p>This sub-series contains files from John Dougherty’s research of the Denishawn school of Dance, as well as materials he collected while working for Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn. The materials cover a wide range of subjects related to dance and dance history. Included are interviews, personal correspondence and subject files on people affiliated with the Denishawn school, transcriptions of interviews with Ted Shawn and Barton Mumaw and historical writings by others on the subject of dance. This sub-series also contains Dougherty’s collection of clippings and programs of dance performances, as well as photos of Ruth St. Denis and Ted Shawn. The musical scores in this series were used by Ruth St. Denis for performances in the 1960’s and by Dougherty himself for dance instruction.</p>"}
