{"value"=>"
The Termination Process - A Theoretical Perspective

The author presents a theoretical overview of the termination process. The dynamic commonalities that manifest in the clinical content of the termination process is examined from a theoretical perspective within a framework which includes Mahler's developmental theory of the separation-individuation process and the psychodynamic characteristics of the loss experience. Feelings of separation, loss, dependency, and death can be stimulated during the termination process. The author suggests that in group dance therapy, termination can be better understood within a conceptual framework that considers termination as a process. The facilitative role of dance/movement therapy using the theoretical model set forth in this paper is presented.
"}
