The nature of expression in psychotherapy and the importance of the creative arts as mediums for expressing feelings and attitudes which accompany depression is explored. We know that individuals have affinities for certain mediums of expressions but for this outpatient (Ms. M) with depression each medium: art, music and dance, provided a framework for expressing certain symptoms of depression. This paper discusses Ms. M.'s use of each of the creative arts and speculates as to why they were used in a particular way.</p>"}
