The ability to engage adaptive coping mechanisms is related to positive feelings of self-esteem and self-efficacy. The development of these processes is investigated. Dance therapy is introduced as an adjunctive therapy to assist in the rehabilitation process. Through movement the dependent psychoactive substance user can develop the dependent psychoactive substance user can develop a clearer and more positive sense of self. This process should enhance feelings of self-esteem and self-efficacy which will enable the development of adaptive coping mechanisms.</p>"}
