An overview of an empirical and theoretical literature on depression in children and adolescents is presented. This is followed by a case study involving a depressed borderline boy, and a treatment plan implementing dance therapy treatment as an intervention for these problems. This paper's aim is to integrate the theoretical and empirical aspects of developmental theory and theories on borderline and depressive syndromes with dance therapy. Also included are issues relevant to diagnosis and assessment. This paper suggests that there is an unequivocal relationship between depression and dance therapy as a treatment modality for individuals and groups of patients with borderline and depressive diagnoses.</p>"}
